Hours after Taylor Swift’s ‘Rolling Stone’ interview in which she dissed another female celebrity, Katy Perry has spoken out about an unnamed ‘Mean Girl’ in her life — and it sure sounds like it’s throwing serious shade at the ‘Shake It Off’ singer.
In case you need catching up, Taylor Swift called out a famous female frenemy in the October issue of Rolling Stone, making everyone wonder who it was she was feuding with. She even claimed that said person “tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.” So, who was she talking about? If you didn’t think Katy Perry, you may change your mind after reading her latest tweet.
Katy Perry Disses Taylor Swift?
On Sept. 9, Katy tweeted without context:
Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…
— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) September 9, 2014
If you somehow did not know, Regina George is the name of the main character, played by Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls, who ruins lives by talking about other girls behind their backs.
While there’s no evidence she’s referencing Taylor, it does come at an interesting time.
Taylor Swift Talks ‘Straight-Up Enemy’
Just hours before, Taylor’s interview with Rolling Stone hit the web — where she references someone who is her enemy. She revealed in the mag that on her new album, 1989, she has a song called “Bad Blood” about a “harsh” person in her life.
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” she said. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life? She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
“I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive,” she added, even though she did admit there was a personal element.
In case you didn’t know, Taylor did date John Mayer (and wrote “Dear John” about him) right before Katy.
Whether or not Katy’s tweet was a shot at Taylor, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Katy is NOT a fan of Taylor.
