Hunter Hayes turns 23 years old on September 9, and what better way to celebrate than by drooling over photos of country’s Next Big Thing and going over the highlight reel from his incredible year?

The biggest highlight from Hunter’s year is, of course, the release of his sophomore album Storyline. Released in May, the album was critically and commercially well-received — it debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart. Not too shabby!
He debuted the first single to Storyline — “Invisible” — at the Grammys in January. The single, released on the same day, went on to sell 35,000 copies following his performance. Not only that, but according to a press release from Hunter’s camp, for every purchase of the single on iTunes, “Child Hunger Ends Here [donated] the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding American, up to 1 million meals.”

How many 23-year-olds do you know who donate their hard-earned cash to charity?
He didn’t stop there in his partnership with Child Hunger Ends Here — in May, Hunter played 10 shows in 10 cities in 24 hours beginning with a performance on Good Morning America to raise awareness for the cause, breaking The Flaming Lips‘ previously-held Guinness record of eight shows in 24 hours.
Hunter is currently touring as he continues to promote Storyline; the Tattoo (Your Name) tour launched Aug. 30, and The Railers are opening for him across North America.
