Simone Battle’s Apparent Suicide: No Signs Of Problems Before Death
The former X Factor finalist and G.R.L. singer was thrilled about her burgeoning music career, and her father Anthony said she never revealed to him that she was suffering, according to TMZ.
Anthony told the outlet that he texted Simone every day. They had not spoken over the phone in a few weeks, but Simone seemed happy in their texts.
However, Anthony is aware that Simone could have been hiding something. “It’s possible she may have had an invisible disability,” he told TMZ.
Like Anthony, Simone’s friends also said the singer showed no signs of problem, even when they texted her the night before her death.
Simone’s boyfriend found her body in her bedroom on the morning of Sept. 5, her father told TMZ. She was found hanging in a closet in her bedroom, the outlet reports. Simone’s father doesn’t suspect any foul play. Her autopsy is set for Sunday.
Simone auditioned for The X Factor in 2011. She performed “When I Grow Up” by The Pussycat Dolls in front of the celebrity judges. She was ultimately eliminated when she made it to the Top 17. When news of her death broke, her X Factor family, including the judges, took the time to offer their condolences.
Simon Cowell, who mentored Simone, tweeted: “I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It’s such a loss. Rest in peace Simone.”
Former judge Paula Abdul also spoke out on the sad death. “My heart & prayers go out 2 @GRLSimone’s family, band mates, & loved ones. Such a beautiful sweet promising star. May she rest in peace. xoP,” she tweeted.
Cheryl Cole, Melanie Amaro and The X Factor’s official Twitter account also offered their condolences.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Simone’s family and friends during this difficult time.
