‘Boardwalk Empire’ Final Season Spoilers: 5 Things To Look Forward To
1. There’s a time jump.
The final season of Boardwalk Empire picks up in 1931, seven years after the fourth season left off. Prohibition is nearing its end, but America is right in the thick of the Great Depression.
2. Chalky’s out for blood.
After losing his daughter and his big man status at the end of last season, Chalky’s not in a good place. At the beginning of the season, he’s in a chain gang, but from what we know about Chalky, he won’t be there for long. Chalky’s a survivor, and when he’s out for revenge — watch out.
3. New faces in Atlantic City.
The final season does bring along many new characters. Jim True-Frost joins the cast as crime fighter Eliot Ness, while Matt Letscher will play wealthy businessman Joseph Kennedy. If you’re a Scandal fan, you know Matt’s a great addition to the Boardwalk Empire cast. We can’t wait to see what he’s up to. Giampiero Judica and Louis Cancelmi also have been added to the cast.
4. A flashback-heavy first episode.
At the end of the day, it’s all about Nucky. We get a glimpse into his childhood when the show flashes back to 1884. Nucky is just a kid, but he’s already making moves for a criminal career when he’s introduced to the Commodore.
5. “No one goes quietly.”
The posters for the final season send a foreboding message. “No one goes quietly,” the posters read. Will the season end with a massive slaughter of our favorite characters? Will they put up a fight? Time will tell.
One thing’s for sure — Nucky isn’t going to go silently.
Boardwalk Empire‘s final season premieres Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
