As part of Under Armour’s ‘Will’ campaign, Gisele Bündchen beats the crap out of a punching bag as a message to her detractors. Watch her empowering ad!
As an ambassador of Under Armour’s “Will” campaign, Gisele Bündchen, 34, joins the ranks of other amazing and accomplished women like Lindsey Vonn, Sloane Stevens, and Misty Copeland. In her first ad for the athletic wear brand, Gisele sends a powerful, feminist message that is a total must-see for women — and men — everywhere. Check it out!
Gisele Bündchen’s Under Armour Ad: Model Fights Haters In New Video — Watch
In her Under Armour ad, the slender Gisele can be seen laying waste to a punching bag as unflattering tweets paint the walls behind her.
Messages like “Gisele is just a model,” and, “Is modeling now a sport?” and, “Way too skinny,” and “She’s old” seem to be present in her mind as she beats the punching bag, clad, of course, in her Under Armour gear.
However, what’s really interesting about the ad is that we’re not only seeing negative messages aimed at Gisele — no, even positive ones like “Beautiful as always,” and “Bravo! Gisele can do anything!” are present.
Gisele Bündchen ‘Knows What It Means … To Beat The Noise And Achieve Her Own Goals’
The ad seems to convey that Gisele doesn’t let anyone‘s comments dictate her choices; this is echoed in Under Armour’s “I Will What I Want” mission statement, which reads:
“It’s a reminder that you don’t need permission, advice, or affirmation when you have WILL. It’s a celebration of who you are. As an athlete. As a woman. As everything in between and beyond. It’s a reminder that the best things in life aren’t given. They’re earned. And there’s one reason you are where you are today. That reason is you.”
The Creative Director of the Under Armour Women’s line, Leanne Fremar, also weighed in in a statement about the new campaign:
“Most women at a certain point in their life encounter contradicting opinions, expectations, praise and criticism. Having lived her life in the public eye since she began modeling at 16, Gisele knows what it means to focus inward in order to beat the noise and achieve her own goals.”
We love this ad! Gisele may have made her career as a model, but she’s also a devoted athlete who regularly practices yoga and martial arts. She also doesn’t care about your opinions — nor should she, and nor should you! You do you, ladies.
So, HollywoodLifers, what do you think of the ad? Do you agree with Under Armour’s mission in this campaign? Let us know your thoughts!
