Stand Up To Cancer is a charitable initiative launched in 2008 which, as you may have guessed, seeks to raise funds for cancer research. The charity is given a biennial boost by a massive, star-studded telethon — fittingly titled Stand Up To Cancer — which also features a number of high-profile musical performances. Read on for the list of performers and for more on Ariana Grande‘s beautiful performance of “My Everything.”
Ariana Grande At Stand Up To Cancer: Star Studded Charity Performances
Ariana Grande is basically everywhere these days. While Stand Up To Cancer is being filmed live at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Ariana was in Seattle just the night before to perform the U.S. national anthem at the NFL kickoff game between defending champions Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers.
The hour-long special will seemingly have very little filler — along with all the celebs in attendance and along with Ariana’s performance, The Who, the Dave Matthews Band, Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco and Common are also performing.
‘Stand Up To Cancer’: Gwyneth Paltrow Returning As Executive Producer
The event — which takes place every other year — has Gwyneth Paltrow, 41, returning as executive producer for the event; her father, Bruce Paltrow, succumbed to throat cancer 12 years ago when he was just 58.

Ariana Grande’s Performance Of ‘My Everything’ On ‘Stand Up To Cancer’
UPDATE @ 8:30 PM ET: For her performance, Ariana sang her sweet, sad ballad “My Everything.” Not long ago, the 21-year-old singer lost her beloved grandfather to cancer and so this must have been an especially emotional moment for her. She performed the song beautifully, of course — she is particularly skilled at singing live, unlike some of her pop contemporaries.
Ariana looked as grown-up as we’ve ever seen her in a lace calf-length pencil skirt and a matching lace crop top. Gone were her usual minidress and go-go boots — she looked every inch the young woman she is!
Not all was different, however; she stuck to her ever-present half-ponytail, thick liquid liner, and mega-long lashes for her beauty look. She was totally glam and we’re glad that she was able to have this moment to commemorate her grandfather’s memory.
