Hodor?! In the most shocking news to hit Westeros in awhile, Bran Stark and Hodor will NOT be appearing in ‘Game of Thrones’ season five!
Season five of Game of Thrones will Hodor-less. Kristian Nairn, who plays the one word only protector of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), revealed that the dynamic duo won’t pop up in the new season. George R.R. Martin, finish those books!
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5: Bran Stark & Hodor Won’t Be Featured
Talk about a cliffhanger! In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Commission, Kristian dished that his character, as well as his co-star, will be taking a hiatus from the series.
“We’re not actually in Season Five, by the way,” Kristian revealed. “We have a season off. We have a year’s hiatus.”
What?! Granted, there are a lot of characters on the hit show, and it’s difficult to devote time to all story lines. Kristian also revealed that it’s pretty much up to George R. R. Martin to decide when they return.
At the end of season four, Bran Stark and his comrades finally completed their journey to meet the Three-Eyed Raven. They end up meeting an old man and he tells Bran that he’ll never walk again, but he will fly. Bran and Hodor’s storyline is left open-ended from there.
The next book in the A Song of Ice & Fire series, The Winds of Winter, will reportedly be released in June 2015. But with George, you never know. The novel will focus on Bran’s sisters, Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams).
A Dream Of Spring will be the final novel in the series. Crossing our fingers for more Bran and Hodor!
