Betty White fans everywhere began to panic on Sept. 3 when news broke that the 92-year-old died peacefully in her home. So shocking! Could the former Golden Girls star really be gone for good?
Betty White Dead? New Death Hoax Hits The Internet
We can all take a huge sigh of relief because Betty White is alive and well! The beloved TV and movie actress was just the victim of a celebrity death hoax.
An article that read, “Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home” quickly took over the internet of Sept. 3. As expected, fans started to worry that the actress had really died at the age of 92. However, the article was published on the notorious satirical news site Empire News, and the headline includes one major clue into whether Betty really died or not.
The outlet took advantage of mixing up some homophones and it caused a massive freak out from Betty White fans.
The article went on to talk about how Betty was alive, but was not a natural blonde. “In a press release from her long-time manager Jeff Witjas, it has been confirmed today that actress Betty White, best known for her roles on TVs The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, and Hot in Cleveland, is not a natural blonde,” the article said.
Nevertheless, fans still believed that the actress was dead. Check out their frantic tweets.
