CeeLo is apologizing, again, for the insensitive tweets he posted, Aug. 29, where he said if a woman is unconscious, it doesn’t count as rape. HollywoodLifers, is her tweet enough of an apology?
CeeLo Green, 39, took to Twitter, Sept.3, and told his over 1.9 million followers that he “deeply” apologizes for the comments he made about rape. So here’s what happened, in 2012, CeeLo was alleged to have given a woman ecstasy and she claims he raped her. CeeLo was acquitted of the sexual assault charges, Aug. 29, and that’s when he took to Twitter to joke about rape.
CeeLo Green ‘Deeply’ Apologizes For His Rape Tweets
CeeLo made some horrible jokes but he says that it’s not what he really believes.
In his apology tweet, he simply says that he is sorry, but it almost doesn’t seem enough, does it?
I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.

CeeLo’s Rape Tweets: Women Can’t Be Raped If They’re Unconscious
CeeLo has since deleted his tweets but below are some screenshots, courtesy of BuzzFeed:
These tweets are so incredibly disgusting and insensitive. The singer previously posted his own apology on Twitter before deleting his account:
“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you”
Although there was lack of evidence to charge him with sexual assault, he was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service for his drug charges.
HollywoodLifers, do you think CeeLo’s tweet is enough of an apology?
