There is no “slam” here. This so-called “criticism” is akin to the kind of “criticism” one would give to a person who had their car stolen b/c they left the keys in the ignition. In fact, Mr Gervais’s advice is proper and appropriate. I’m a HUGE fan of Jennifer Lawrence, but the fact is that, as a member of the “digital generation,” she should have known better than to save intimate pictures on her phone or computer or whatever. Doing so is only asking for trouble. By this, I DO NOT mean that this is in any way Jennifer’s fault. I simply mean that it was entirely predictable that this kind of thing would happen and Jennifer (and the other victims) should have been more careful with where they chose to store their personal pictures. It has long been said that you should never save anything to your computer that you wouldn’t want the whole world to see. This does not, in any way, mean that I am excusing the perv who stole these pictures and illegally posted them. They need to find that guy and rip his nuts out through his spleen. The fact remains, however, that if simple (and widely-known) precautions had been taken by these young ladies, this would never have happened. For instance, in Jen’s case, I would recommend that she invest in a wall safe where SHE determines the combination. If she feels the need to share the combination with someone, she has her parents and her brothers. She can be reasonably sure none of them will ever be interested in providing her intimate pictures of her to the World Wide Web. I would then recommend she invest in a good digital camera so that, if she has to take nude selfies, they’ll be stored on the memory card which she can then keep in the safe. When she wants to view them with her boyfriend or significant other or whoever, she can take the memory card out and plug it into her computer or television and watch all she wants. Just DON’T SAVE THEM to the computer.

When I read this headline saying that he slammed Jennifer for the nude pics in my emails I was surprised with and mad at Ricky until I came in here and actually read his exact tweet. HL was very misleading with the headline as usual. He didn’t even mention Jennifer and I know he didn’t mean any harm by it. Just reading the comments there have been on some of the other HL articles about Jen and her photos, people have said some horrible things. Some saying she deserved to get hacked, that this was a publicity stunt, that Jens career will suffer, that she is stupid for having pics like that of herself to begin with, like people are stupid for thinking things on their phone or whatever will be kept private. Phone hacking shouldn’t be something people have to worry about. We should all have the right to keep certain things private and not have our phones hacked. Some people have even said she is a slut because of these photos. All those people should be ashamed of their hater selves are the ones who need to shut up and leave Jen alone. Us J-WARRIORS need to stick up for her against people like them instead of Ricky because I really do believe he was just trying to be funny and had no malice.

All he said was the truth, come on people! Who exactly is getting upset by this? I’m upset that they are getting special treatment by our govt. if someone hacked me, not a single person would care! Yet they get FBI at their disposal? Yet another example of 2 usa’s.

Def should not be apologizing. I thoght it came across as a joke. Joan Rivera (sorry that she’s I’ll) has said way more hurtful things yet is known to some as some sort of comedic queen…dint get it! Bottom line, there’s truth to what he said

Ricky only stated the truth and sdldn`t be blamed for that and plus Jennifer has to be dumb to be taking nude photos of herself. But then again her career isn’t that great so I guess she needed some easy way to boost it and get more noticed.

I feel bad for the people that got their pics leaked, but come on! Don’t you people have better things to do than take pictures of yourself in the nude? If you’re going to be stupid enough to do that and then keep them in a spot where they can be easily accessed you have all of this coming tbh.

He shouldn’t be justifying himself for telling the truth. I wouldn’t…

The only thing stupider than taking nude sex photos is putting them in cloud storage.

I wouldn’t put the data I am comfortable others seeing on cloud/virtual drives, let alone nude/sex photos or videos. It just shows how little people know about technologies they are using.

We already seen those women naked in movies and magazine…. They know they are target for this kind of hacking and now the cry. Come on! And calling FBI. Our tax money should be spent in better ways. When Regular people are targeted from identity theft the FBI do nothing.

It is common sense…its not wrong to do it but if ur in a job that ur being watched and getting hacked is happening all around you the least you can do is not take the pic in the first place.

I do NOT feel sorry for these gals with their nude pics all over the net—-why? Because most of them are HO’s! Look at that Upton babe—with her fake jugs hanging out on SPORTS ILLUSTRATED 2 years ago, in every store around!
