In an upcoming tell-all interview, Miley Cyrus reveals that she still loves ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth — is she still not over him?
Miley Cyrus, 21, is, incredibly, still working hard on her massive, worldwide Bangerz tour. In a new tell-all interview, she takes the time to lend her thoughts on upset parents, feminism, and, most interestingly, her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, 24, whom she says she loves. Is she still not over her ex-fiancé?
Miley Cyrus Loves Liam Hemsworth — Is She Not Over Him? New Interview
“I love Liam,” Miley says in a sneak peek for her Aug. 31 interview with Sunday Night.
Miley and Liam met on the set of The Last Song in 2010 and went public with their relationship not long after its filming wrapped; he popped the question in 2012 but the two unfortunately split in 2013 after months of behind-the-scenes arguments which, as many sources have alleged, revolved around her changing image and attitude.
While Miley has never explicitly said that “Wrecking Ball” was about her ex-fiancé, the writing was basically on the wall when she performed it at the American Music Awards in Nov. 2013 — not too long after their split was officially announced — and she nearly brought herself to tears.
That said, it’s very possible that Miley is still affected by their breakup. Given that they had such an intense relationship at such a young age, it would be understandable for them to still love each other despite their differences.
Miley Cyrus: ‘Of Course’ I’m A Feminist
Miley also shared her (slightly misguided) views on feminism in her interview, telling interviewer Chris Bath that “of course” she is a feminist: “I’m a female and I want that feminine power, of course, but it’s not about overriding that male energy, it’s about being equal.” Indeed, that’s what feminism is about — equality. However, where many celebs are scared to call themselves feminists, we definitely have to give Miley credit for saying she does believe in the concept and considers herself one.
Regarding parents who bring their children to her Bangerz concerts and are upset by its content, Miley basically — and rightly — said that it’s not her problem. Miley stated several times that she’s just 21 and having fun and doing her own things; if you ask us, she doesn’t really have anything to apologize for. It’s up to parents to be responsible for the content their children consume — it’s not up to Miley.
“As long as we’re not hurting ourselves and other people and that we’re reading good books and watching good films and taking care of animals and people and being active in our communities, I think that’s what makes somebody who they are,” she said. Indeed, Miley is more than her pot leaf-patterned unitards — she is currently a woman on a mission to raise awareness for the problem of youth homelessness with her charity My Friend’s Place.
