Agent Carter Chad Michael Murray

Chad Michael Murray is returning to television, and to our hearts. Lucas Scott has been cast in ABC’s upcoming ‘Agent Carter!’

For fans of One Tree Hill, Marvel, and handsome men, you’re in luck — Chad Michael Murray, 33, is returning to television for a starring role in ABC’s upcoming Agent Carter.

‘Agent Carter’: Chad Michael Murray Joins Marvel Show Alongside Enver Gjokaj

Chad will play Agent Jack Thompson, according to; joining Chad is the lesser known Enver Gjokaj, 34, as Agent Daniel Sousa. The two will meet Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in New York City at the Strategic Scientific Reserve — a S.H.I.E.L.D. precursor.

You may know Evren from his starring role in the tragically short-lived Dollhouse alongside Eliza Dushku. Fun fact: nerds (i.e. this writer) will have spotted Enver in another Marvel venture — he played “Young Cop” in that tiny indie flick known as The Avengers. So glad to see that he’s landed a larger role within the Marvelverse!

‘Agent Carter’ Will Take Place One Year After ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’

In case you haven’t heard about Marvel’s latest, Agent Carter takes place one year after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. Agent Peggy Carter, you’ll recall, kicked ass and took names in that movie — however, once the men return from fighting overseas in WWII, she finds herself having to deal with, basically, a whole bunch of sexist BS.

While doing administrative work in New York City for the SSR, she’ll also be undergoing secret missions for Howard Stark and livin’ the single life, so says Marvel.

For her single status to merit mention in casting news, we can only imagine that Chad’s character will likely be romancing her at some point. However, our nerd fingers are crossed for Enver’s character doing it (and her) instead. (Not sorry.) Long live Dollhouse; forever may Joss Whedon reign.

Agent Carter‘s eight-episode run will air during S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s mid-season winter hiatus on Tuesdays at 9/8c.

So, HollywoodLifers, are you rejoicing over Chad’s return to television? Will you be watching Agent Carter? Let us know what you think below!
