Taylor confesses during the outtakes of her new hit video ‘Shake It Off’ that she feels like she doesn’t ‘fit in’ — but she’s totally fine with that! Find out why.
Taylor Swift‘s new song is all about shaking off the haters, players, liars and dirty, dirty cheats of the world and dancing “to the beat of your own drum,” as she puts it. Now she’s revealing in a brand new interview how she was finally able to “feel cool” with herself after years of feeling like she didn’t fit in.
Taylor Swift Video Outtakes: Singer Confesses She Doesn’t Fit In
There’s nobody quite like Taylor Swift, 24 — and she wouldn’t have it any other way!
“A lot of people who I think will relate to this song are people who are dealing with not ever really feeling cool with themselves because other people make them feel like they don’t fit in,” Taylor says in the outtakes of her “Shake It Off” video.
Taylor may be playing the part of a pretty blonde cheerleader at one point in the video, but she admits that she’s never felt like a “cool” kid.
“One thing I learned in this whole process is, you can get everything you want in life without ever feeling like you fit in. Selling millions of records doesn’t make me feel cool,” she confesses. “It makes me feel proud and like I have a lot of people on my side and I’ve worked really hard but I dont think it’s the most important thing in life to fit in. I think it’s the most important thing in life to dance to the beat of your own drum and to look like you’re having more fun than the people who look cool, like they fit in.”
We totally agree with Taylor, and we love that she dances to the beat of her own drum! Keep groovin’, Tay!
