Could Chris Brown be heading back to jail following the tragic shooting at the pre-VMAs party that he hosted at 1OAK on Aug. 23? An expert is weighing in and telling HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY what is in store for Chris’s future!
So sad. In the middle of Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs party at 1OAK nightclub, shots rang out and left music producer Suge Knight, 49, injured. HollywoodLife.com spoke exclusively to Los Angeles attorney, James. E. Silverstein, who revealed if the 25-year-old could be heading back to jail. Read below for all the details.
Chris Brown Club Shooting
Such a scary incident! As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri’chard and Apple de Ap were all in attendance at the party. Justin Bieber, 20, also chilled with Chris before the party.
Chris was released from prison on June 5, after serving time for breaking his probation stemming from his case with Rihanna. Now, after being present at the tragic incident, Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney James E. Silverstein told HollywoodLife.com exclusively if Chris could be heading back to the big house.
“The question of whether or not Chris Brown is in violation of his probation depends largely on the terms and conditions of his probation, including whether or not there are association limitations, curfew requirements, and/or being under the influence, or being in places (such as the 1OAK) where alcohol is the chief item of sale,” James said.
“So even if Brown had nothing to do with the violence which took place, that violence could prove to be dumb luck for him, revealing that Brown was in a place where he shouldn’t have been. If any of these conditions is true, Brown could therefore be found in violation.”
James revealed, “One basic condition of probation is that Chris Brown obey all laws. Any new arrest(s) would therefore subject him not only to a probation violation, but also to new serious charges,” he said. “Here, whoever is involved is facing very serious felony charges and allegations, including, but not limited to, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, personal use of a firearm, and potentially the penal code 186.22 gang allegation. Depending on the circumstances, those involved could be facing life in prison.”
HollywoodLife.com reached out to Chris’ rep for comment. This is what his reps said:
“Chris hosted an event in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the upcoming release of his album X, during which an incident occurred. This incident did not involve Chris; he was merely the host of the event. He has and will continue to cooperate with the investigation.”
Chris Brown At The 2014 MTV VMAs
Despite the tragedy, Chris did his best to put the incident behind him by attending the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24. The rapper was nominated for “Best Collaboration,” for his hit summer song, “Loyal” ft. Lil Wayne and Tyga.
Sporting his signature bleached hair, Chris dressed all in black with a hint of flannel — we even named him as one of our hottest hunks!
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, earlier in the day, before he attended the awards, Chris spoke out about the devastating tragedy. He took to Twitter, telling his fans, “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullsh**!!!”
Our thoughts go out to those who were at the event.
