Breaking Bad took home the final award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Aug. 25 in Los Angeles. This year’s six nominees were all worthy contenders, but it was Breaking Bad who walked away with the big win. Do you think the right show won, HollywoodLifers?
‘Breaking Bad’ Wins Outstanding Drama Series Emmy
Heisenberg wins! Breaking Bad beat out the other five nominees for Outstanding Drama Series. The final season of the hit AMC show was the best yet, and we’re glad it got the proper send-off at the Emmys.
With Breaking Bad, True Detective, Downton Abbey, House of Cards and Mad Men all nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmys, any one of the shows could have been announced as the winner. True Detective garnered tons of buzz this year for their wildly popular drama starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, but it wasn’t enough to top Walter White.
It was Breaking Bad who proved to be the best show of the year, and it was.
The hit AMC show completely swept the 2014 Emmys. Stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn were all named winners in their acting categories. Breaking Bad won five Emmys total for Outstanding Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Writing and Drama Series at the 2014 awards show.
The six seasons of the AMC show were some of the best on television. This Outstanding Drama Series award marks this show’s 15th and final Emmy win ever. We have to say, this was the best way to close the final chapter on Breaking Bad.
