It was a huge night for Beyonce! The singer not only was given the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, but she also put on one of the most iconic performances in VMA history.
Who runs the world? Beyonce! At the 31st Annual MTV Video Music Awards, the Queen Bey took the stage to perform not one, not even two, but fifteen songs — her full new album! The 32-year-old singer stunned when she took the stage in a fully bedazzled outfit, and we couldn’t get enough of her performance! She started with “Mine,” which is all about her relationship with Jay Z — and ended with a special appearance by Hov himself!
Beyonce’s VMA Performance
Before hitting the stage, an eyewitness told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she was jamming out to Jay’s songs backstage with her little one, Blue Ivy! What a perfect way to get ready. With a smoke filled stage and flashing lights, we didn’t even mind that Beyonce performed every song on her album.
Here was the set list:
2. “Haunted/”Pretty Hurts” Transition
4. “No Angel”
7. “Drunk In Love”
11. “Flawless” — and yes, she did reference that elevator fight!
13. “Blue” — which featured her daughter’s voice and made her choke up!
During the first half, she got sexier than ever. She was grinding, dancing and even wrapping around a stripper poll at one point. But who cares? It’s the Queen Bey!
We have to say, while Beyonce was so sexy during her performance, she was also so sweet. She sang to Blue during “Blue” and even had tears in her eyes. She also dedicated “XO” to her fans. It was very very sentimental.
Bey looks to be stronger than ever, regardless of the split rumors — plus her man, Jay was there with Blue Ivy! We spotted him backstage, then later in the audience while they watched Bey together. Then, her husband and baby came out to present her with the award!
What did you think of Bey’s performance, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
