5 Seconds Of Summer Gives Stunning Performance Of ‘Amnesia’ At VMAs

5 Seconds Of Summer proved they’re a force to be reckoned with when they took home the first moonman and gave a show-stopping performance of ‘Amnesia’ at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24!

5 Seconds Of Summer may have performed “Amensia” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24, but this is definitely a performance we’ll never want to forget.

5 Seconds Of Summer’s VMA Performance

Calum Hood, 18, Luke Hemmings, 18, Michael Clifford, 18, and Ashton Irwin, 20, rocked out on stage in t-shirt and jeans. And while their attire was kept simple, it was super appropriate for the track they performed.

“Amnesia” is a sad, moving song that is meant to be felt. Anything too crazy on stage would have taken away from the meaningful lyrics of the chart-topping track.

Like us, fans on Twitter loved the performance.

A few days prior, Calum promised a pantsless 5 Seconds Of Summer performance at the VMAs in an interview with MTV, and it looks like they failed to follow through on that promise. (Bummer!) The guys also hinted that they may wear pizza onesies on stage — that didn’t happen either.

It seems as though the band just wanted to tease their fans. We’ll forgive them for having such a good sense of humor.

5 Seconds Of Summer: VMA Performance A ‘Huge Honnor’

5 Seconds of Summer, who won the first moonman of the night, revealed they were super excited to perform at the VMAs in a statement released by the band. “Can’t wait to play the VMAs this year,” 5SOS said. “It’s a huge honor and we always love coming over to the States. We can’t wait to play on such a big stage!”

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Did you love 5SOS’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards?

He wasn’t drumming? Because it sure looked like he was drumming to me. They are so much more talented than 99% of the artists that performed that night. They are incredible talented and I am so very proud of them.
