Anything can happen in a soccer game, that’s for sure. In the middle of the Spanish Super Cup game between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid on Aug. 22, Portuguese soccer player Cristiano threw his arm towards the face of opposing defender Diego of Atlético Madrid.

In the video, both teams clash at the goal line and Cristiano’s arm clocks out Diego! The throw was so severe that Diego hit the ground almost instantly and cradled his face in his hands. 

The punch earned Cristiano a yellow card in the second half, according to UK’s Daily Mirror

Atlético Madrid went on to beat their rival team 2-1 on aggregate.

Cristiano is fresh off his participation in the 2014 World Cup. Despite Portugal’s loss to Germany, Cristiano was one of the most talked about players in the tournament. The hunky athlete recently loss to LeBron James, 29, for the top spot in Sports Illustrated’s 50 Fittest Athletes edition.

While it’s unclear if Cristiano deliberately threw the punch at Diego, the Uruguayan soccer player definitely got hit hard.
