She just couldn’t shake it, being so serious and stressed out, worrying if Nick was cheating. “I’ve always had really low self-esteem, and I still do,” Mariah told People in 2008.
“She always wanted to be more famous than Nick and when his popularity rose it scared her. It threatened her,” the source explains. “She’s always battled with her self image and it took a toll of the marriage.”
Nick and Mariah have always been known for having fun together, something that initially brought them together.
“What initially attracted Nick was Mariah’s fun nature but that slowly faded and it just eroded. It wasn’t like two best friends anymore,” the insider says.
