Amish sisters Fannie and Delila Miller were kidnapped by Nicole Vaisey and Stephen Howells Jr. on August 14. Their alleged abductors have now revealed that they intended to use the young girls as slaves. So scary.
At Nicole Vaisey‘s preliminary hearing on August 21, she admitted that she and boyfriend Stephen Howells Jr. intended to use the 7 and 12-year-old girls they allegedly kidnapped as “slaves.” So scary.
Kidnapped Amish Girls Were To Be Used As Slaves, Says Abductor Nicole Vaisey
Nicole revealed to St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detective Sergeant Brooks Bigwarfe at the time of her arrest that she and Stephen treated finding the girls as a “shopping trip,” reports The Associated Press.
Nicole’s Defense Attorney, Bradford Riendeau, said at the preliminary hearing that Nicole is “not as culpable as [Steven] is,” because they were in a “master-slave relationship.” Stephen, wisely, waived his right to a hearing.
Meanwhile, St. Lawrence District Attorney Mary Rain says that the children were abused by “sexual predators.”
Fannie & Delila Miller Were Lured By A Puppy In Nicole Vaisey & Stephen Howells Jr.’s Car
When the Amber Alert went out on August 14 in search of Fannie and Delilah Miller, their alleged abductors were pretty quick to surrender once they saw the massive coverage the kidnapping was receiving on the news.
Fannie and Delila were captured when the couple used a puppy to lure the girls into their car. The girls then spent nearly 24 hours being “handcuffed together at the ankles and handcuffed to the bedpost because [Nicole and Stephen] were scared they were going to go out the window and flee the house,” said Brooks at the hearing, as reported by WYNY News.
This story is so shocking, and we’re so glad that Fannie and Delila are back home with their families. Our thoughts go out to them, and we sincerely hope that Nicole and Stephen find themselves in jail for a very, very long time.
