‘Teen Mom 2’: Leah Slams Corey For Refusing To Accept Ali’s Condition

Wed, August 20, 2014 12:15pm EDT by 21 Comments

Uh oh. Is Ali’s dad, Corey, still in denial about her muscular dystrophy? In an EXCLUSIVE clip from ‘Teen Mom 2,’ Leah and her husband, Jeremy, complain about Corey’s hesitation in helping Ali get her wheelchair from his insurance.

Leah Messer, 22, is constantly struggling to keep it together as she handles three very small children, including her daughter Ali Simms, 4, who suffers from a very rare form of muscular dystrophy. Without the help of Ali’s dad, Corey Simms, 24, will their little girl ever get the wheelchair she so desperately needs?

‘Teen Mom 2′ Preview: Leah & Jeremy Talk About Corey Behind His Back

Yikes. Leah does not seem happy with Corey.

On the Aug. 20 episode of Teen Mom 2, Leah gets a surprising phone call from her ex and the father of her two eldest daughters, Ali and Aleeah.

In the clip above, Corey tells Leah that he is planning on bringing the girls to the zoo over the weekend and that he would really like to take Ali’s wheelchair with him so that she can get around comfortably.

Wait, what? Yes, that really just happened!

However, while it finally seems like Corey has accepted that Ali needs her wheelchair and gets around better with it, Leah is still not pleased — and neither is her husband, Jeremy.

Shortly after Leah and Corey’s phone call, she sits with Jeremy in their living room and discusses how her ex really should be pushing his insurance company to approve Ali’s wheelchair. If you remember, on the previous episode of TM2, Ali was given a loaner chair from her therapist because Corey’s insurance feels she is far too young to drive a motorized chair on her own.

Be sure to watch the clip above to see how Jeremy reacts to the news that Corey asked for Ali’s wheelchair, and what the couple has to say about his lack of motivation in following up with the insurance company.

Let us know your thoughts, HollywoodLifers — Do you think Ali is too young to use a wheelchair? Do you think Corey needs to help fight with the insurance so that she can finally get her own? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

I don’t understand how you are on a reality show, can you not afford a wheelchair? I know they aren’t on all these episodes for free…what are these people doing with their money?

HIPPA privacy laws will allow Leah as the mom of minor children on Corey’s policy to contact them about the wheelchair. . .so call them instead of just blaming Corey

She probably does not know that–and its very possible that he never even filed. I bet he hasn’t because he would have heard from them so he is just putting her off and I am shocked he does not pay child support–only the $200 he gives her sometime because he thinks the courts are not set up right he said. Children have to eat every day not when he decides she can have some money for them.

Leah needs to grow up and get her head out of the clouds and stop listening to guys leading her around by the nose. When they divorced they should have had child support and all that set up in the courts not him saying I will give you money this time but I can’t next time-that is a deadbeat dad. No mother out there can say–I will feed you this month but I can’t feed you next month.

Who would want to put their child in a wheelchair when the child can walk and run and you are taking them to cheerleader practice? Who would not want to encourage their child to keep doing and enjoying these things while they still can? In the latest pictures, Ali and her sister have won a cheerleader competition and in another Ali is driving a motorized scooter!

Most zoo’s have little cars that you can push your kids around in! Quit putting Ali in a wheelcheer! Get her a motorized scooter! Why doesn’t Leah and Jeremy have THEIR insurance take care of things if they know so MUCH!!.

It is not for Leah to give Corey any education–he needs to talk to the doctors. From watching Corey and his dad, then I would say something is bothering them that they do not want to reveal, at least publicly. Either they do not want the responsibility of dealing with the child’s illness financially or are ashamed of her or are very ignorant people that they cannot grasp what this illness involves for all those suffering from it. Which one could it be? Leah says Corey is in denial. No one can look at Ali and deny she has medical issue unless your are blind and cannot see. I think someone needs to do an intervention with Corey and his father. Social services or who ever handles that.

While they are doing that Leah needs to get therapy.

Corey has Ali living with him every week where he has JOINT CUSTODY, so he knows what is going on with Ali just as much as Leah. Corey has NEVER complained about Ali’s medical bills and it is HIS medical insurance that covers Ali! In the latest clip it says that Ali is running…
