With the semi-finals just one week away, the Aug. 20, live results show of Americas Got Talent got heated as the contestants move one step closer to the million dollar prize! See who made the top five below!
‘America’s Got Talent’ Elimination — Only 5 Acts Move On To The Semi-Finals
After showing a recap of last nights amazing acts, it was time to get down to business and say a sad goodbye to a total of seven acts!
The first act of the night to make it through to the semi-finals was the cello playing duo, Emil & Dariel, who gave an amazing and very different performance last night, impressing every judge, especially Mel B, 39. Sadly that meant that it was time to say goodbye to Extreme dance team, and the adorable card-throwing siblings, Dom The Bom’s Triple Threat.
Jonah Smith, was the next act of the night to be sent through, and he was completely surprised and very greatful to be heading to the semi-finals. We are not shocked to see him move on through after Howard Stern, 60, called him, “the real deal.” Unfortunately, the Bad Boys of Ballet were sent packing.
It was no surprise that 12-year-old, Quintavious Johnson moved forward to the next round after his amazing rendition of Dream Girls, “And I’m Telling You.” Receiving a second standing ovation, the judges and audience were excited to know that they will hear the singer perform again. Heidi Klum, 41, told the young singer, “I think you could win the whole thing.” With his advancement, super-talent group, Mothmen Dance were sent home.
More Tearful Goodbye’s
Taking a break from the eliminations, the Radio City Music Hall stage welcomed back a familiar face, season 8 runner-up, Taylor Williamson. Showcasing his amazing talent, it is no wonder this hilarious comedian made it so far in the competition! He even made a few jabs about his loss saying, “I’m a reality show loser, I’m a Kardashian!”
After a brief break, it was time to find out the final two acts that will be continuing on in the competition
Smoothini and Jonatan Riqelme were called up next. While Howard wished them both luck, he had a word of caution saying that if they are to continue on, they need to find a way to switch up their acts and keep it fresh. The magic-man made it through, sending fifth generation circus performer, Jonathan home.
One Voice Children Choir, Nina Buri, and Kelli Glover were all called up to the stage. First, talented contortionist, Nina was sent home, leaving the judges with a tough decision of who will be staying. The 100 member choir sang “Let It Go” from Frozen, while Kelli sang, “If I Ain’t Got You,” by Alicia Keys.
It was Kelli’s lucky day as Mel, Howard, and Howie Mandel, 58, all voted for the talented singer to move forward!
