Louisville Purge: One Direction To Have More Security At Detroit Concert?
Have no fear, 1D fans. The “Louisville Purge” rumor has not sparked any major violence in the cities that the rumor has spread to. The social media threat is taking a note from the 2013 movie The Purge, where all crime is legal for 12 hours. One Direction fans were worried after the scary rumor started to loom over Detroit. The boy band performed on Aug. 16 and is set to perform again on Aug. 17.
HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that One Direction and their security team is aware of the crazy rumor going around, but isn’t that worried.
“The band is aware of all the madness that is surrounding them but they are all confident that they have a great security team and will not be hurt at all,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “They are actually joking and laughing like usual. They are not worried at all.”
The “Louisville Purge” rumor sparked fear within the Kentucky city after a teenager posted the threat online on Aug. 15. The police have discovered the teenager who started the rumor and is currently investigating, WKYT reports.
The potential threat was taken very seriously in Louisville. The city canceled a scheduled football scrimmage between two rival high schools, The Courier-Journal reported. Police also increased downtown patrol after the “purge” rumor went viral, WLWT reported.
The viral threat on Twitter and Facebook spread to Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, Cleveland and Detroit, WKYT reports. We completely understand fans worry over One Direction’s safety. This is a very scary and potentially dangerous rumor to be spreading around.
