Joe Jonas turns 25 on August 15 — happy birthday to the Jonas Brother!
It’s hard to believe that the Jonas Brothers released their first album, It’s About Time, in 2006 — it seems like it was just yesterday when a 16-year-old Joe Jonas was stealing teenage hearts. Everyone’s favorite middle brother turns 25 on August 15 — read on for more from his year and check out our gallery of pics! You know you wanna.
Joe Jonas’ Birthday: Former Jonas Brother Turns 25 — Happy Birthday
Unfortunately for Joe, the biggest, most publicized events which occurred during his 24th year involved two huge breakups. In October 2013, he and his brothers announced the official breakup of the Jonas Brothers just as they were about to go on tour and release their first album since 2009’s Lines, Vines And Trying Times.
“It was as if we became characters,” Joe told People mag of their split at the time. “It was not authentic to us anymore. We didn’t even know the password to our own Twitter.” Brother Nick Jonas also evoked the two magic words — “creative differences.”
Not long after that, Joe ratted on ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato, 21, and on friend Miley Cyrus, 21, telling New York magazine that the first time he ever smoked weed, it was with them. “They kept saying, ‘Try it! Try it!’ so I gave it a shot,” he revealed. Miley fired back, telling The New York Times: “If you want to smoke weed, you’re going to smoke weed. There’s nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don’t want to do.”
Demi, for her part, rose above, telling E! News that she called him up after the interview was released and told him: “Relax. We’re good. Just don’t be so stupid next time. I love you, it’s all good. We’re always going to be friends.”
Joe Jonas: Currently Single (And Presumably Ready To Mingle)
Earlier this month, Joe and his model girlfriend of nearly 2 years, Blanda Eggenschwiler, 29, broke up. It was “mutually decided [they would] part ways,” Joe’s rep told Us Weekly. “The split was amicable and the two remain friends, with great respect for one another.”
You know what that means, ladies — he’s single. (He even told NY mag that he’s dated fans in the past! This is your moment!)
Joe may be taking a little break from the spotlight, but we’re sure that this former Jonas Brother (though still a brother to a few Jonases) will make a comeback in his 25th year! Don’t feel too sorry for him — he made more money in his teens than most people can ever even conceive of in their lifetime; he’s also super handsome, and super talented. Happy birthday, Joe! We’re looking forward to your next big move.
