‘The Lonely Island’ lives on! A movie featuring the hilarious musical comedy group is in the works!
It’s the movie we never knew we wanted or needed. A movie starring The Lonely Island trio, Andy Samberg, 35, Jorma Taccone, 37, and Akiva Schaffer, 36, is gaining ground in Hollywood. Esteemed comedy producer and director, Judd Apatow, 46, is also set to produce the upcoming film, so you know it’s going to be off-the-charts funny.
‘The Lonely Island’: Andy Samberg & Judd Apatow Making Musical Comedy Movie
While on Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2011, the trio produced hits “I’m on a Boat,” “D*ck in a Box” and “Lazy Sunday.” Andy was a regular cast member, while Jorma and Akiva were writers on the show. Andy is currently starring on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The group has released three incredible and hilarious albums: Incredibad, Turtleneck & Chain and The Wack Album.
Judd is known for his part in producing films such as Bridesmaids, Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
The film will be co-directed by Jorma and Akiva. No release date has been set.
