Take heart, ‘Arrested Development’ fans — Netflix hasn’t yet finished with the series. Will Arnett has confirmed that he and the rest of the cast are on board for a fifth season!

On one of many stops for his massive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles press tour, Will Arnett, 44, revealed that he and the rest of the Arrested Development cast are fully on board for a fifth season. No, you’re crying. Details below!

‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Cast: Will Arnett & More Sign On For New Season

“Yeah, we are gonna do more Arrested Development,” Will revealed on the Today show on August 7. “[Netflix CEO] Ted Sarandos and Netflix kinda let the cat out of the bag on that one.

“It’s something we all want to do, so we’re excited.”

Indeed, Ted did let the cat out of the bag! “[A fifth season of Arrested Development is] just a matter of when,” Ted revealed to USA Today on August 5.

Scheduling is the primary concern in getting the gang all back together; Ted acknowledged “It was ‘a fair criticism’ of last year’s revival of the cult comedy ‘that the cast didn’t appear on screen often enough together,'” the outlet reported.

‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Was Met With A Lukewarm Response By Many

However, don’t get too excited yet — while the wheels spun pretty quickly once the Netflix deal was inked in 2012, Arrested Development was in limbo from its cancelation from Fox in 2006 until its fourth season premiere on Netflix in May 2013. In the interim, both the cast and showrunner Mitch Hurwitz were insistent that a movie was in the works!

The hype surrounding the fourth season was so ramped up by the time of its premiere that it was impossible for the revival to have met the exceedingly high expectations set by diehard fans. Furthermore, while the format was an interesting way to catch viewers up with everyone’s favorite developmentally arrested family, some of the character-centric episodes fell a bit flat and a lot of callback jokes felt fairly shoehorned in.

That said, given more reasonable expectations on part of fans and critics alike and a back-to-basics approach on part of the creative team, Season 5 of Arrested Development is sure to be a smashing success.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you enjoy the fourth season? Are you looking forward to a fifth? Also, will you be seeing Will star in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Let us know!
