It’s so simple to see why they are getting paid so much money. The show has exploded with popularity, being the second highest rated television show last year over ALL categories. With that brand of success, the actors and actresses are now hot commodities and have great tags to their names. It’s not a long shot to say they get HUGE offers everyday to be a part of another show, or have a big role in a feature film, on a regular basis now. What would happen if someone else came along and offered them something better? The creators don’t want to lose their stars because more than likely the show would drop an IMMENSE amount of viewers and ratings, meaning a huge loss in profits. Let’s face it, these three (along with Simon and Kunal) are the reason the show is so popular. Lose some of them, and the formula is ruined. The creators are basically saying “here’s a million dollars an episode, you are basically our property” to ensure that they don’t have to worry about losing their cash cows to someone else.

You’re a hater – period.
Why are people sick by how much others earn? It’s because haters have pathetic lives & they can’t bare to see others prosper (it shouldn’t concern you).

The world is filled with haters & they’re pathetic…

The truth is that the money will be made regardless of who makes it so either the cast (who actually make the show as great as it is) or the television network (CBS) make the money!!! If A-ROD can sign 2 -100 million dollar contacts for SUCKING then why shouldn’t the cast of the #1 sitcom make their money too

They bring in the advertiser money, they should get a share of it. Would people rather the studio keeps it all?

Why would anyone be ‘outraged’ at how much these actors make? I don’t remember the fans having to shell out…it’s not the fan’s money. It’s the producers money…and if the producers are okay with it, then that’s that. I don’t see how it affects the fans at all. Not their business.

The Friends cast negotiated the same deal, only years ago! It’s a lot of money. If they can get it, good for them. The show is awesome, and anyone who doesn’t think it’s funny probably laughs uncontrollably at That 70’s Show reruns.

Your opinion…and regardless of your opinion, it doesn’t affect you in any way whatsoever what the actors get paid…you aren’t paying them.

The title of your article is false and misleading. The people who are ‘outraged’ are clearly not fans of the show.

Lets look at it this way. The show obviously makes more than enough money to pay these people what they asked for. So obviously the show makes a butt load of money, and if you’re a part of that money making machine, why shouldn’t you share in the profits? Or do you think the higher ups should get to put it in their pockets? I have no doubt there are people apart of the show who make much more. Why shouldn’t they get paid a fair wage, considering the amount of money the show brings in?

I agree with themurph2000. The studio makes hundreds of millions off the show. The cast of friends were making $1 million each episode and that was what? 10+ years ago. Give me a break. The world is unfair, celebs, sports stars make millions, when regular hardworking people make peanuts. That’s the world we live in. If you don’t like it, go to Hollywood get discovered, and makes millions too.

The likelihood of getting “discovered” in Hollywood is almost nil. We don’t live in an “unfair world”. We live in a world where many people are often unfair to others. This is not a permanent condition like you imply. Moreover, hard-working people do not make “peanuts”: people who work hard often live quite comfortably, and so your cynical and grim outlook on life is merely a reflection of yourself, rather than the world.

I’m sorry but that’s incorrect. I actually have a accurate outlook on the world. I work hard and make a comfortable living, but if you’re looking at the “majority” of people in the world. Including children who work 20 hrs a day and make $1 a month, Yes most people who deserve a fair living make “peanuts”. You can’t use your own situation to comment on the reality of the world we live in. I was just making the point that 3 people making $30 million a year each doesn’t mean anything in the scope of life. People are sitting here asking for the boycott of the show because of this fact, when the studio executives are making billions of dollars off the show. I was making a point that instead of complaining, these people should go out and try to do what these stars have done by being discovered and then being good enough to be on a hit show for the last 4-5 years and then come back and complain on here about how much they’re making.

OK, so how dumb are some of these people? 1) $90 million is not PER YEAR. It’s for the three years total. 2) Warner Brothers, even with this deal, still makes $333 million per year on the show from syndication, DVD sales, and overseas rights. If the cast is greedy, what does that make the production company? 3) If Warner Brothers thought they were overpaying the actors, why did the negotiations take such a short amount of time? They had at least 3 more weeks before the filming schedule would have had problems. 4) The cast didn’t pull a Marshawn Lynch and hold out in the middle of a valid contract. The contracts expired and they needed new ones.

Seriously, there are people out there who have to get their heads out of their @$$. This was a business decision, plain and simple. And given Nick at Nite paid $500K per episode to show Friends in primetime through 2017, how much do you think The Big Bang Theory will get for the same deal?

No you are wrong -given that each “star”earns $1million per episode and there vare 23 episodes per season that accounts for $69 million per year for those 3 alone Add in the salaries for the remaining cast and other costs ofguests and $90 million per year is correct

What could they possibly do with so much money?! I certainly hope they do some good with all that, look at Gaza, look at Ukraine, the world is in pieces. I cannot believe they demand so much money for a show that isn’t that great imo… It’s not ground-breaking, it’s not original or creative.

But one thing is true – once you get greedy, it all goes to hell. After this, I might even enjoy seeing that happen to these self absorbed “actors”

Really? Your throwing world problems at a TV show? If your really that concerned about the rest of the world, why don’t you take it up with the government, with people who have the power to actually do something about but don’t care enough to actually do much at all.

These are clearly not fans of show. More like pressed haters. The show has one of the biggest audiences and make a lot of money. If they made a deal with the actors it is because they have the money and think they deserves. I just think all of them should earn the same.

Please! The cast of Friends did this back in the ’90s and are still collecting residuals, enough that it made Jennifer Anniston the 3rd highest paid actress in Hollywood last year and all she did was “Meet the Millers” and a couple of Aveano commercials, the rest is all Friends money.

The show’s a continued hit for the network that is making huge bank on advertising and syndication, the stars of the show are the reason it’s such a huge hit, they deserve to be compensated more than the corporate shills who sell the airtime in between acts.

who wants to cut their paycheck?!? success aside… but for real… it’s a too much cash for that couple minutes. harder working peops get less. not really cool. they could safe it and develop new shows instead of wasting it for that 3 wallets to get that humongous phat. *thumbs down*

i’d boycott it for the rest of it. early out. dumpster sh*t. *thumbs up*

Too much cash in who’s opinion? Yours? Is the money coming from your pocket? No? Then it really doesn’t matter what your opinion is. Why would you get so concerned over what someone else is paid? It’s not your money…obviously the people paying the salaries feel it’s worth it (and it is, the show rakes in the dough). I’m sure the producers were real concerned with what you thought was the right amount to be paid said no one ever.
