James Corden: ‘Late Late Show’ Host — Craig Ferguson’s Replacement

Bring on the laughs! After Craig announced in April that he would be resigning from The Late Late Show in December, James has been chosen as his replacement, our sister site TVLine reports.

You may not be familiar with James, but he’s already made a name for himself in his native Britain, having appeared in several TV shows from across the pond, including Doctor WhoGavin & Stacey and Fat Friends. He will also play the role of the Baker in Disney’s upcoming musical flick Into the Woods.

James also won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play in 2012, for his work in One Man, Two Guvnors. We can’t wait to get to know James!

Craig Ferguson Leaving ‘Late Late Show’ In December

Craig, who has hosted The Late Late Show since 2005, revealed the sad news of his departure during an April 28 taping.

Craig proved that he had a sense of humor about his exit by making fun of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin‘s March separation in a statement issued by CBS: “CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are ‘consciously uncoupling,’” Craig wrote. “But we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much.” Hilarious!

So what do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you upset that Craig is leaving The Late Late Show? Do you think James will be a worthy replacement? Let us know!
