So sad. At a prayer vigil held for Alexandria Chery, her pastor revealed to over 100 people that the missing teenager sat front row in church ‘crying’ just the day before she may have been killed.
Alexandria Chery, 16, was missing for exactly one week when her friends and family gathered inside of her favorite church for a prayer vigil. A source close to the missing teenager told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Alex was very spiritual, and often spent a lot of her free time participating in church activities.
Alexandria Chery Cried In Church The Day Before She Went Missing
The more we learn about Alex, the more we realize she was truly a special girl.
On Monday, Aug. 4, friends, family, neighbors, and supporters of Alex and her family attended a prayer vigil at Kingdom Church in Orlando, Fla., reports local news affiliate WESH.
During the service, Pastor Daniel Jacques told the crowd of over 100 people that he vividly remembers seeing Alex the day before she died, July 27, claiming that she attended a morning service at the church.
“That particular service was our 11:45 a.m. and she sat right there on the front row. We may have not known but God was intervening with her on that Sunday morning. Anybody who was at that 11:45 (a.m.) service seen her at the altar and she was crying out to God. She was the loudest one here at the altar,” the pastor shared, hoping his story would bring comfort to her loved ones.
This new information ties into HollywoodLife.com’s EXCLUSIVE interview with one of Alex’s friends that she knew for years.
“[Alex] was also a member of the church so that’s where she mostly was,” the source revealed while discussing her missing friend.
“She was sweet. Always happy, goofy, friendly, and very popular — she knew everybody. And she had the cutest accent.”
One thing is for sure: Alex was loved, and by many different people. The Kingdom Church was packed to the brim in her honor on Monday, Aug. 1, showing that she has touched many lives.
The Orange County Police Department has yet to confirm whether or not the body found in the woods on Friday, Aug. 1, belonged to Alex. They are still awaiting DNA and autopsy results before releasing an official statement, which is expected to come later this week.
The only suspect in Alex’s disappearance and potential death is her mother’s 43-year-old boyfriend, Sanel Saint Simon. He is currently in police custody being held for providing false information and tampering with crime scene evidence. On Monday, Aug. 4, the OCSO upgraded these charges from a misdemeanor to a felony.
Our thoughts remain with Alex’s loved ones during this difficult time.
