Remy Ma Prision Release

Unfortunately fans will have to wait just a bit longer to hear new music from Remy Ma! The rapper was set to get out of prison after six years on July 31, but sadly, due to a disciplinary issue, her release has been delayed.

Remy Ma, 34, was sentenced to eight years in prison in May 2008 for shooting an associate, Makeda Barnes-Joseph after a fight. After serving six years, the rapper was set to get out of jail early on good behavior. However, her July 31 release date has been pushed back. Read below for all the details!

Remy Ma Prison Release Delayed

Fans have missed the beloved Terror Squad rapper, and unfortunately, it seems that they will have to wait a bit longer before Remy is officially back.

According to Revolt, an official at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility told the site that she is being held due to a “third-party call,” which occurred on July 21. The site also reported that, Hot 97 news chief, Miss Info, said that Remy spent the past week leading up to her release date in solitary confinement.

Although it has yet to be confirmed, that is the same day that the rapper made a call in to Power 105’s, Angie Martinez show, where she admitted to be excited to go back to work.  Although she was supposed to be released between 8 am and 10 am, on July 31, she is still in custody and according to the site, she could remain there for a few days or even weeks depending on how long the process takes.

Remy Ma Reveals Being A Nicki Minaj Fan

According to MTV News, Remy revealed to be excited to get back to work, and to being a big fan of Nicki Minaj, 31, and all of the success that she has had.

The rapper said, “Nick has always been a supporter and vice versa,” Remy said. “I like what she does. She’s done wonderful things for females, but I just wish there was more of them. I don’t know what they’re doing; they’re letting these guys take over.”

Remy has missed quite a lot in the six years that she has been gone. Female rappers have come such a long way, and we are sure that with Remy back in the picture, even more strides will be made. Maybe she and Nicki will even work together!

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers?  When do you think she will be released? Should Remy and Nicki Minaj collaborate?
