Now that the July 29 fight between Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom has been soundly made fun of by Stephen Colbert on ‘The Colbert Report’, the altercation has officially become the stuff of legend. Watch Stephen’s epic takedown of the Biebs below!
After video emerged of Orlando Bloom, 37, swinging a punch at Justin Bieber, 20, on July 29, it’s been made pretty clear that the majority of people are Team Bloom and that Orlando is going to be canonized as a saint upon his death. The Soup and now The Colbert Report have each weighed in on Bloom vs. Biebs, and Stephen Colbert did not hesitate in taking Justin down a few notches. Check it out below!
Stephen Colbert On Justin Bieber Fight With Orlando Bloom: Mocking Feud — Video
“The conflicts continue to rage all around the world and tonight I’m sad to report yet another international dispute that has erupted in senseless violence,” Stephen began on the July 30 episode of The Colbert Report. Of course, he went right into a segment on Bloom vs. Biebs.
“Yes, early reports indicate that last night, Justin Bieber had his first hit in years.” Ha!
Stephen then began to detail what went down — in case you’ve been living under a rock the past few days, we’ll break it down for you, as well. Both Orlando and Justin were at Cipriani in Ibiza, where Page Six reports that Orlando refused to shake Justin’s hand. Then, Justin, referring to Orlando’s ex, Miranda Kerr, 31, fired off a “short-range ballistic” (Stephen’s words): “She was good.”
That’s when Orlando got physical.
Stephen Colbert: Miranda Kerr ‘Was Either Canoodling With [Justin Bieber] Or Babysitting Him’
Justin and Miranda were first linked together in October 2012, when Justin performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show; she and Orlando were still married at the time. During his segment, Stephen popped up a photo of Miranda and the Biebs, with Miranda approximately one foot taller than the Canadian pop star: “She was either canoodling with or babysitting him.”
However, the feud doesn’t end there: Orlando and Miranda announced their separation in October 2013 (with Justin being named as a possible factor), and Orlando was seen with Selena Gomez, 22, on a date in April 2014. (In case you’re not up on your celeb drama, Selena is Justin’s on-again, off-again girlfriend.)
While Miranda’s lawyers have told TMZ that the claims that she and Justin were ever intimate are “false and defamatory,” Orlando’s decision to punch Bieber right in his face seems like pretty compelling evidence that at least something went on.
However, as an eyewitness reported to HollywoodLife.com, Orlando didn’t quite connect; he seemed to reconsider what he was doing mid-swing.
“Now, as a journalist, it’s my job to report on atrocities like this, but to be clear I do not condone this type of violence,” Stephen said in his segment. Why doesn’t he condone this type of violence? Well, because Orlando missed, of course.
