America has voted, and the results are in! The first live results show of Season 9 of ‘America’s Got Talent’ on July 30 did not disappoint with a performance by Enrique Iglesias. But there were some cuts — read on to find out if your favorite acts made it through to the next round.
All of the acts on America’s Got Talent brought their best performances for the first week of live shows at Radio City Music Hall, however, only one act will be crowned the winner of AGT so the eliminations had to begin. America had a tough decision on who to vote for and on the July 30 live results show, we saw both tears and relief, as contestants found out their fate. Find out which acts will be back next week!
‘America’s Got Talent': Shocking Eliminations At Radio City
On July 29, we saw some pretty spectacular performances on AGT, but only five of the twelve acts that we saw will make it through to the semifinals. We have to say, we were surprised on some of the eliminations on July 30!
The first act announced to be returning for the semifinals was none other than the old-Hollywood glamour singer, Emily West. Emily was extremely excited, jumping up and down! Howard Stern told Emily after she performed that Emily was “memorable” and one of the best singers he’s seen on the AGT stage. We have to agree Emily was amazing — good vote, America!
As expected, Nick Cannon took his time announcing the contestants who would move on. But as we waited, we were treated to an upbeat performance by Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul!
The hilarious stand-up comedian Dan Naturman was the second act voted through to the semifinals — and we can’t say we’re surprised! Howie Mandel even compared him to Woody Allen, talk about a comparison!
The women in the AGT audience went crazy when Nick announced that singer and guitar player Miguel Dakota will be moving on! Heidi Klum agreed with America’s choice to send Miguel through, but did add that he needed to work on his vocals for the semifinals.
Matt Lauer & Savannah Guthrie Make Surprise Appearance
Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie from the Today show appeared on AGT to announce the winner of the Today’s Got Talent winner, the group Cornell Bhangra! The group won a chance to perform in front of the judges on the AGT stage.
The magician team David & Leeman seemed completely shocked when it was announced they would be moving on. We’re excited to see more magic tricks from these two!
Tensions were running high at Radio City Music Hall with only one spot left in the semifinals. Heidi, Howie, Howard, & Mel B had to choose which act would stay and which act would go home. After voting, three out of the four judges voted that the dance studio Baila Conmigo earned the final spot and will be moving on to the semifinals!
J.D. Anderson, Julia Goodwin, Willis Clan, Sean & Luke, Jasmine Flowers, Valo & Bobby, and Flight Crew Jump Rope were the acts who’s journey on America’s Got Talent sadly came to an end.
We have to say that we were most surprised that the tapdancers Sean & Luke didn’t earn a spot in the AGT semifinals. Were you shocked, too, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
