Justin Bieber may not have the best reputation, but he definitely has an enormous heart! The 20-year-old heartthrob earned the “Champ of Charity” award at the Young Hollywood Awards on July 27, but he promptly gave the trophy to Make-A-Wish recipient Grace Kesablak, and made her dream of becoming a “celebrity” come true!
Justin Bieber At YHAs
Before going inside The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, where the 2014 YHAs took place, Justin spoke one-on-one with HollywoodLife.com’s Katrina Mitzeliotis. During our exclusive interview, Justin talked openly about his charity work and why he felt the need to make Grace’s wish come true!
“She’s incredibly beautiful. She’s actually being a little shy right now. I’m glad she’s here,” Justin told HollywoodLife.com as he looked down on Grace, whose wish was “to be a celebrity.”
So what did Justin have planned for the 10-year-old, who is battling cancer?
“I think what we’re going to do is bring you on stage,” the “As Long As You Love Me” singer told her. “The whole world is going to see this.”
Grace giggled in excitement, and Justin added, “Nothing makes me more happy. I don’t do this for any other reason other than to just put a smile on people’s faces and spread peace into the world.”
Justin Bieber Wins ‘Champ For Charity’ Award
Once inside, Australian pop star Cody Simpson presented the “Champ For Charity” award to Justin while a video montage highlighting his work with the Make-A-Wish foundation played.
“Someone asked me backstage and they said, ‘What’s it like to give?'” Justin said in his speech. “And I didn’t really know what to say, but now I know it’s so much better than receiving.”
“This is Grace’s award. Grace, can you come up here please?”
When Grace came to the stage, Justin handed off the award to her and lifted her up as the crowd cheered! (So sweet.)
Justin left after receiving the award, but Grace was later seen caressing her trophy happily inside the theater, according to the Los Angeles Times.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Is Justin the sweetest celebrity ever? Are you glad that he was honored for his charity work? Tell us how you feel!
