‘The Bachelor’ & ‘Bachelorette’ Win Reality Royalty At 2014 YHAs

Don’t ever feel ashamed for watching ‘The Bachelor’ or ‘The Bachelorette’ again! Thanks to the Young Hollywood Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on July 27, they’re now two award-winning shows.

Who needs an Emmy? The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, ABC’s longest-running series about the journey to find love, won the Reality Royalty award at the 2014 Young Hollywood Awards on July 27. Host Chris Harrison and a few cast-members from the upcoming spinoff Bachelor In Paradise, were on hand to accept the award at The Wiltern Theater!

‘The Bachelor’ & ‘The Bachelorette’ Wins Reality Royalty Award

The Bachelor and The Bachelorette beat out four other nominees, including America’s Next Top Model, The Voice, The Real Housewives and So You Think You Can Dance.

Despite the steep competition, we’re not too shocked about the big win — this isn’t the franchise’s first award. The long-running series have been nominated for multiple awards throughout the years! And in 2008, the franchise won a Teen Choice Award for Matt Grant’s turn as the Bachelor. (That season must have been part of the pre-Vienna era.)

Of course, we don’t need our favorite shows to win big awards for us to keep watching, but it’s nice to know that the endless rose ceremonies and proposals, whether they actually lead to marriage or not (we’re looking at you, Brad Womack!), are appreciated by others beside ourselves.

Here’s to hoping the franchise sticks around for many more years to come!
