Former Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, 24, is getting ready to tell her side of the story in a brand-new tell-all book titled Never Too Late. On July 24, Amber revealed the book’s cover, which featured a selfie — and believe it or not she has a really good reason for her photo choice.
Amber Portwood Reveals Why She Chose A Selfie For Book Cover
Who would ever think to make a selfie their book cover? Amber Portwood, that’s who.
There are a number of reasons why Amber chose a selfie for the cover of her new book, however, the most important reason is that a selfie is the most relatable photo to the generation she is desperately trying to reach.
“The selfie has become so mainstream that everyone can relate to it and my story and journey is one that a lot of people can relate to,” Amber told Radar in an exclusive interview.
Wow. Now there’s something that no one else has ever thought of. Kudos to Amber for the brilliant idea!
So, what can fans expect from Amber’s new book? Michael Wilson of Post Hill Press revealed that the book contains elements of “hardship, hope and addiction” — among many other things.
For those of you who watched Amber’s life unveil itself on Teen Mom, you know firsthand how difficult her life has been. Now, she’s hoping to use those difficult experiences to better the lives of other going through similar issues.
Amber Wrote Her Book After Serving Hard Jail Time
In June 2012, Amber was sentenced to 5 years in jail after she told the judge that she truly believed jail time would be more beneficial to her than rehab.
After spending 17 months in prison, Amber was released from Indiana’s Rockville Correctional Facility in November 2013 for good behavior.
A prison spokesperson confirmed to E! News that Amber earned “good time credit” for her participation in a substance abuse program and good behavior, which is so exciting to hear after seeing her go through so much.
