‘Firefly’ fans rejoice! Nathan Fillion and the cast of the cult classic are coming back together in the form of an online game!
Firefly lives on! The Serenity crew, including Nathan Fillion, 43, and the additional cast members, are reuniting for another round of intergalactic fun in Firefly Online. The big news about the online game was announced at Comic-Con on July 25 and it’s easily the best news for Browncoats since 2010.
‘Firefly': Nathan Fillion & Entire Cast To Reunite For Online Game
Since the unjust cancellation of the beloved TV show in 2003 after one season, Firefly fans have been anxiously awaiting any chance for the cast to reassemble for another adventure.
Browncoats (fans of Firefly) were given a movie, a role-playing game, comics, a book, documentary and unofficial sequel, and now a new Firefly Online is the latest treat to come flying fans’ way.
The entire cast, including Nathan, Alan Tudyk, 43, in multiple roles, and Michael Fairman, 80, as the crime kingpin Niska, will reprise their classic roles, iO9 reports.
The first trailer for the online game asks fans to fill in their answer after “If I were a captain…” Some wanted a huge spaceship, some wanted to explore the Verse, while others just wanted to keep their ship flying. With Firefly Online, fans can control their own destiny in the Verse.
In the final moments of the trailer, there was an extra special surprise. Nathan — Captain Mal Reynolds himself –appeared and revealed what kind of captain he would be.
“I’d aim to misbehave, but that’s just me talking,” he said. Oh, Nathan.
Firefly fans are one of the most devoted fanbases in all of television. Firefly Online is yet another way of showing just how coveted the show was and still is over a decade after the show was cancelled.
Firefly Online will be available in summer 2014 on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Browncoats, you just keep doing you.
