Jennie Garth is firing back at ex-‘90210’ co-star Ian Ziering for calling Tori Spelling’s ‘True Tori’ a ‘train wreck.’ Find out what she said to defend her friend!
It’s a Beverly Hills, 90210 feud! All of our ’90s dreams are coming true. Tori Spelling, 41, received a lot of heat for her decision to air her marital grievances during True Tori — including from her former co-star, Ian Ziering, 50! Back in June, he said that the show was like a “train wreck!” While he’s not altogether wrong, the insult was incredibly hurtful to Tori, according to her Mystery Girls co-star, Jennie Garth, 42. Find out what was said below and tell us if you’re Team Sharknado or Team Mystery Girls!
Jennie Garth Defends Tori Spelling After Ian Ziering’s ‘Train Wreck’ Diss
“On one hand, [Ian] does love Tori in the way we all love each other and the bond that we all share,” Jennie told HuffPost Live on July 24. “It was a little harsh — just the words ‘How do you not watch a trainwreck?’
“I know that that really hurt Tori, she continued, though she did acknowledge that “[Tori’s] reality show wasn’t for everyone.
“And for me, it was hard to watch just because I love her so much. It was so hard for me to see that kind of position she was in.”
Ian Ziering: ‘I Don’t Know What To Make Of [‘True Tori’]. It’s A Train Wreck’
In case you missed Ian’s original comments, he told Billy Bush on Access Hollywood on June 5 that he had “seen clips” of True Tori, but that it wasn’t “appointment television” for him.
Ian, quite frankly asking the hard-hitting questions everyone wants to know, went on: “I don’t know what to make of it. It’s a train wreck, it’s a train wreck! And I can’t explain it, because I don’t know the details. I’m just as a witness and a bystander, like we all are.
“It’s like, why is this even happening? Why is this happening on television?
“It just seems as there is nothing sacred,” he continued, on a tear. “I don’t know. But, I do know that Tori is a smart girl… she’s a smart girl. She knows what she is doing.
“It’s a train wreck and you have to watch it! It makes great television… but I question the motives. Why? Why are you doing this?” Indeed, Ian. Indeed.
However, we can totally see why Tori was upset — she, Jennie and Ian were all on 90210 for the entirety of its run, from 1990 to 2000. Surely a bond must have formed during that time, and while True Tori was definitely something else, it may not have been up to the Sharknado actor to say.
So, HollywoodLifers tell us: does Ian have a point? Or was he too mean, considering how hurt Tori was? Are you Team Mystery Girls or Team Sharknado? Let us know!
