Following the tragic death of Ariana Grande’s beloved grandfather on July 22, her former co-star, Jennette McCurdy, tweeted out her condolences. Could their rumored feud be over?
Ariana Grande, 21, and Jennette McCurdy, 22, have not really had the smoothest of relationships following their time spent together co-starring on the now-canceled Sam & Cat. However, it looks like their feud may be over — Jennette tweeted her condolences out to her former co-star following the death of Ariana’s much-beloved grandfather.
Ariana Grande & Jennette McCurdy’s Feud Over? Jennette Tweets Condolences For Ariana’s Grandfather
Here’s what Jennette tweeted on July 23:
My thoughts & condolences go out to the Grande family. I met Ariana’s Grandpa several times. He was always kind & classy. #RIPGrandpaGrande

We’re so glad that, whatever issues may still lie between them, that Jennette decided to bury the hatchet in the face of such a tragedy.
Ariana and her grandfather had been very close, and he was very loved by Ariana and by her brother, Frankie Grande. Frank died at the age of 90 following a long battle with cancer.
‘Sam & Cat’: It Wasn’t Just Jennette’s Sexy Selfie Scandal That Got The Show Canceled
Rumors of feud began swirling during the hiatus following the filming of Sam & Cat‘s first season, and they were not without truth. As sources previously reported to HollywoodLife.com following the cancelation of the once-hit show, “Jennette is upset the show is not returning but she wanted to be treated with the same respect that Ariana was being treated with and also wanted more money.”
Indeed, it was not just Jennette’s sexy selfie scandal that tipped the scales toward cancelation — “the final nail” was Ariana’s hit song in “Problem” featuring Iggy Azalea. “Ariana is now in a different stratosphere in her career,” our source spilled, “and [she] will be pursuing other opportunities and worrying about her album.”
Jennette even wrote a thinly-veiled TwitLonger about a “trouble friend” who “disrespected” and “disregarded” Jennette, and who “sucked the life” out of her. While neither party ever ‘fessed up, it seems pretty clear that the diss was aimed straight at her former co-star.
However, nothing can unite people like a tragedy, and we’re so glad that Jennette reached out in the way that she did. While the two are likely to never be the best of friends, at least they can move forward civilly.
Our thoughts are with Ariana, Frankie, and the rest of their family and friends during this difficult time.
