Baby Falls Train Tracks

This is so scary. A baby girl’s stroller rolled over the edge of a subway platform and landed in the middle of the train tracks in New York City.

A mother accidentally forgot to set the brakes on her daughter’s stroller while waiting for the train. When her daughter’s stroller rolled right onto the train tracks, a good samaritan risked his own life by jumping in to save the little girl.

Baby Girl Falls Onto Train Tracks Inside Stroller

Thankfully, this scary story has a happy ending.

When a little girl’s stroller rolled backwards and fell directly onto active train tracks at a subway stop in Jamaica, Queens on Monday, July 21, her mother acted quickly.

Unfortunately, the desperate mother did look before she leaped — and when she landed on the tracks besides her baby girl, she sprained her ankle, reports the NY Daily News.

Thankfully, a nearby maintenance worker witnessed the terrifying accident and quickly rushed over the tracks. The man was able to jump down onto the tracks safely, and he led both the baby girl and the mother to safety before their lives became endangered by a moving train.

The incident occurred after the girl’s mother forgot to set the brakes on the stroller, and stepped away for just a moment to throw a drink in the trash can.

Thanks to the brave maintenance worker’s quick assistance, the mother and baby girl survived what could have been a far more gruesome scene. The drop from the subway platform to the train tracks is anywhere from 4 to 5 feet deep, so both mother and baby are very lucky they were not seriously injured.

Reports claim that the baby girl suffered a minor bump to her head, as well as a few bruises. She was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital and is expected to recover just fine. The mother’s ankle was also treated at the hospital.

This scary story serves as a reminder to parents everywhere that anything can happen — even in the blink of an eye. Please be extra careful with your little ones!
