The baby drama is non-stop for Sherri Shepherd. ‘The View’ co-host is not only going through one ugly divorce, but now her estranged husband is reportedly going to sue her if she decides to back out of the surrogate contract with him. Yikes.
Sherri Shepherd, 47, is reportedly going to be sued by her ex Lamar Sally, 43, if she doesn’t adhere to the surrogate contract they signed while they were still happily married. A new report claims that Lamar has already began filing the appropriate court documents to proceed with a lawsuit after their baby is born in Aug. 2014.
Sherri Shepherd Will Be Sued If She Doesn’t Take Parental Rights To Unborn Surrogate
Lamar really is putting Sherri through the ringer in this intense divorce.
After three years of marriage with Sherri, he filed for divorce on May 2. Now, he not only wants custody of the surrogate child (which would force Shepherd to pay child support), he also wants spousal support AND to have their prenup thrown out!
Um, yeah, something about all of that does NOT sound right. Right?
According to TMZ, Lamar isn’t letting their baby go without a fight! Apparently, he’s already in the process of drafting up legal documents against her so that she has to sign the baby’s birth certificate.
Sherri is over this whole situation and wants the contract voided on grounds of fraud. She is ready to give up all parental rights and obligations, specifically because she feels that Lamar “trapped” her into having a surrogate baby together for financial purposes.
The child in question is on the way soon and will be born right in the midst of all this divorce chaos and drama. Poor thing.
Sherri Feels Played By Her Ex Lamar
Sherri is standing by her original belief that Lamar knew he wanted out of their marriage and convinced her to agree to having a child via a surrogate so that he could cash in on child support payments. If this is true, she may have a case.
We think both of them should keep in mind an innocent child is wrapped up in this mess and they both should do what’s best for the child!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers, should Sherri give up her parental rights? Should Lamar parent the unborn child alone and let Sherri move on with her life? Let us know!
