So, what’s the royal baby up to for his first birthday? Prince George is celebrating surrounded by family — including Queen Elizabeth II — at a castle in Scotland. Swanky!
Prince George, 11 months old, is preparing for his first birthday with a relaxing weekend tucked away in Scotland’s countryside. Continuing a royal family tradition, the little prince’s birthday weekend will be the first of many spent at the Balmoral Castle in the summer of 2014.
Prince George & Family Celebrating First Birthday In Scotland
He’s not going to remember this birthday, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be just as luxurious as one would expect a royal’s birthday to be.
Prince George will spend his very first birthday, July 22, surrounded by the people who love him the most — his family — at a Scottish castle that has been in the family since the 19th century, reports Us Weekly.
With Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Charles, and even Queen Elizabeth II herself in attendance, little George will thoroughly enjoy running around on the Balmoral castle’s 50,000 acres all summer long.
The castle reportedly has a boat pool in the banks of River Dee, perfect for the soon-to-be 1-year-old to cool off during the warm summer months. There is also a small beach near at the bank, where George will recreate the same summer traditions his own father, Prince William, enjoyed as a child.
However, there are activities for the adults at the Balmoral Castle, too. Kate, William, and other guests will be able to enjoy horseback riding, biking, and much more.
The Royals Have A Staff Of Over 100 At Balmoral
Prince George will also be waited on hand-and-foot during his time at the castle, especially while his grandfather and great-grandmother are in attendance.
Even though Kate and William are notoriously independent and enjoy cooking for themselves, the Queen has a staff of over 100 at the castle to keep things as lavish as possible.
The most important meal of the day is dinner, claims the report, stating that men often wear kilts while everyone else dresses extremely formal.
However, there is still time for a traditional summer barbeque — in which the royals dress down in a way you would never imagine!
One thing is for sure: Prince George is going to thoroughly enjoy his birthday and summer in Scotland!
