Desperate Shoppers Save 2 Children From Hot Car In Texas Parking Lot — Video
Sadly, despite the high-profile Justin Ross Harris case, parents still think it’s okay to leave their children in an unattended vehicle during incredibly hot summer weather. Not that children should EVER be left unattended inside a vehicle — or anywhere, for that matter.
In this case, the irresponsible mother left her two children inside of a sealed vehicle without air conditioning in Katy, Texas. The car was parked just outside of the hair salon where she was getting a haircut.
Fortunately, the passerby who heard the youngsters crying quickly managed to locate a hammer and used it to break open a back window of the Jeep. Multiple witnesses tried to open the doors, but unfortunately the mother had locked the vehicle before heading into the salon, leaving the two small children trapped inside.
Once the window was broken open, a female good samaritan could climbed in through the window and rescue the two children.
The entire ordeal was caught on camera by a shop owner, who told local television station KHOU that the group of people who saved the children feared the little ones would swelter to death it not removed from the hot Jeep immediately.
The police were not called because the mother begged witnesses to forgive her for making a “terrible” mistake. Thankfully, her children were removed from the hot Jeep completely unharmed.
