Now that Leanna Harris’ bizarre behavior after the death of her toddler son has made headlines, HollywoodLife.com spoke EXCLUSIVELY to multiple experts in hopes of getting some answers. Could Leanna have been suffering from postpartum depression?
Could Leanna Harris, 30, have been suffering from untreated postpartum depression all along? Is that how she was able to allegedly participate in the death of her son, Cooper Harris, 22 months old? Our HollywoodLife.com experts have weighed in — and their suggestions about Leanna’s troublesome behavior may surprise you.
Justin Ross Harris’ Wife, Leanna: Untreated Postpartum? — Expert Says
Even though Justin Ross is the one who has been charged with child cruelty and felony murder in the death of their toddler son, Cooper, it’s his wife, Leanna, that has everyone talking.
The mother of one should be devastated at this time, as she not only had to bury her son but potentially has to watch her husband go through a murder trial for his death.
However, during a July 3 probable cause hearing, Leanna sat “stoic” as gruesome details of her son’s tragic death were revealed. She also remained completely unphased as Det. Phil Stoddard revealed that her husband, Justin, was sexting with at least 6 different women — including 2 underage teenagers — as their son died inside of his brutally hot vehicle.
Due to her strange behavior, HollywoodLife.com reached out to multiple experts, including Carole Lieberman, M.D., Beverly Hills forensic psychiatrist, to get some insight. Please note that Dr. Lieberman has not evaluated or treated Leanna.
“Justin or ‘Ross’ apparently wanted to be childless, so that he would be free to have sex with lots of women, and possibly to divorce his wife,” Dr. Lieberman explains. “Leanna has stated that she thought she was unable to have children, so her pregnancy with Cooper was a surprise to both of them.”
Dr. Lieberman also explained that it is completely possible Leanna suffered from untreated postpartum, which is why she appears to be so emotionally detached from this heartbreaking situation.
“Leanna may have agreed to kill Cooper as a way of holding onto her husband by making him happy. She also stated, at the funeral, that at least Cooper wouldn’t have to suffer heartbreak, and live in a broken world. She may be suffering from untreated postpartum depression, as well as the heartbreak of learning her husband cheated on her.”
How sad. There is definitely something not right about this situation, and that explains why investigators are continuing to look into the possibility that Leanna participated in little Cooper’s murder.
Leanna Put Her Husband’s Love Before Her Son’s Life
We also spoke to another expert, Dr. Gilda Carle, The Relationship Expert To The Stars, whose opinion was very much in tune with Dr. Lieberman’s.
“I think she is very much on a conspiracy of some kind, so that the husband will love her. The child was a distraction to this couple — someone was clearly taking too much attention away from them. A child needs a lot of attention and they probably couldn’t stand the fact of him getting in the way. It’s sad,” Dr. Carle explained.
Furthermore, our expert suggests that if Leanna was somehow involved in Cooper’s tragic death, it was in hopes of keeping her husband and saving her marriage.
“The child was just on the side when you think about this couple and their relationship. The child was clearly not very important. She is trying to salvage her husband’s love and she will do just about anything. She’s desperate! She can always let him know that, ‘This is what I have done for you and that there is no excuse for you to be doing anything with anyone else.'”
These expert opinions are shocking and disturbing to say the least. As the investigation into Cooper’s death continues, more details will be revealed about both Justin and Leanna’s involvement — if any.
