Better than a fairytale! Jessica Simpson looked just like a princess at her wedding with Eric Johnson on July 5. The star, with her half-upswept hair, glowed in her gown when walking down the aisle in Montecito, California.
Jessica Simpson, 33, was swathed in an embroidered champagne-colored Carolina Herrera gown complete with a long diaphanous veil for her nuptials to Eric Johnson. With their son Ace, 1, serving as ring bearer toddling in the procession along with daughter Maxwell, 2, and her nephew Bronx, 5, (whose mom is sis Ashlee Simpson) it was truly gorgeous family affair.
Jessica Simpson’s Magical Wedding
“It was amazing to feel the love of everybody and to be able to have our babies watch us say ‘I do.’ It’s a moment you can’t describe,” Jessica told People magazine of the ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Monecito, California in front of 275 guests.
Jessica, who had gotten into phenomenal post-baby shape with the with the help of Weight Watchers and a last-minute vegan diet, glided down the aisle to the tunes of an 18-piece orchestra playing the score from her favorite film, 1998’s Great Expectations. Helping hold her all together and not bust out crying during the event were her 12 bridesmaids including sister Ashlee and her BFF Cacee Cobb.
Jessica Simpson Celebrates Her Big Night
Event planner extraordinaire Mindy Weiss made the reception under a gigantic tent just as special. With a four-course meal that included crab cakes and short ribs, guests burned off the calories dancing to a live band. The only thing missing from the festivities was the traditional cake-cutting and first dance for the couple who had both been married before. “Eh, we really didn’t need to do that again!” said Simpson.
After the formal reception ended around 10 p.m., Jess changed into a short Zuhair Murad number to hit the after-party where she and Eric danced the rest of the night away with their friends and family until almost dawn. Gushed the bride, “I just wanted to live in that moment forever!”
