Eric Hill: Death Of ‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Was Handled Insensitively On The Show
Here’s what Andi had to say to the remaining contestants: “Y’all know Eric Hill,” she began, eloquently. “He — a couple of days ago — was in Utah paragliding and was in a serious accident. We knew he was hurt bad we just didn’t know how bad. We learned this morning that he passed away.”
Then, she began to cry.
Upon finding out about Eric’s death, she seemed more distracted by her guilt over the way they ended things rather than the actual fact of his tragic death. Host Chris Harrison wisely pointed out prior to the episode’s air that he knew people wouldn’t be happy:
Completely understand & respect the fact that some won’t understand or like this tonight. #Thebachelorette

He wasn’t wrong. Here are some of the totally valid points brought up by viewers:
How about a nice message from Eric Hill’s family instead of a bunch of crying #TheBachelorette cast members who didn’t truly know the guy?

I may be alone on this but I think it is in Bad TASTE and I feel bad for the family of Eric Hill who have to live it over and over again!
