Justin Bieber is holding on tight to the memory of one of his superfans. In an heartfelt message on Twitter the star sent out his love and prayers to the friends and family of Alicia Tamboia, who was just 24 years old when she perished in a car accident July 4.
On July 7, Justin Bieber shared a second highly emotional message and a prayer for his fallen friend, along with a collage of photos of himself with Alicia Tamboia. Alicia was a lifelong fan of Justin’s who he had met a number of times at Meet and Greet events.

“I heard about Alicia’s passing this weekend. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones. I remember meeting Alicia a few times at my M&G’s. She did so much for the Belieber family and I will always love her for that. God is great and I know he will take Alicia into his arms and make sure she is happy so she can also watch over us. I love you Alicia,” he captioned his Instagram collage.
Alicia Tamboia, a 2008 Dover High School grad lost her life along with another passenger in a car crash on New York’s Intertstate 90 late on Friday July 4. Alicia who had been working and also studying online for a degree in business entertainment was known for her love of sports and being a dedicated follower of Justin’s.
The worldwide Bieber Nation and the star himself flooded social media with messages of love and support for her friends and family after the tragedy. As the sad news rippled across his 52.7 million Twitter followers the hashtag #RIPAlicia trended around the world. His second tweet was even more elaborate and showed just how much he cared about Alicia.
Justin Bieber’s Special Fan: Gone But Not Forgotten
Since her passing, others close to the young fan have spoken out about Alicia and what a special person she was. Her former basketball coach Kim Knittel told the Poughkeepsie Journal, “She was a go-getter. She just had a good work ethic. She had so many plans. She was tough. She was always the one that was taking charges. A no-nonsense type of kid.”
