Get ready for Season 4, ‘Once Upon A Time’ fans, because the coveted role of Queen Elsa has been filled by ‘Fringe’ actress Georgina Haig.
Once Upon A Time fans have been dream-casting the role of Queen Elsa from Frozen ever since she made a brief — yet spectacular — surprise appearance on the Season 3 finale. Now that the roles of Anna and Kristoff have been filled by Elizabeth Lail and Scott Michael Foster, respectively, the Queen herself has finally been cast — actress Georgina Haig, best known for her role as Etta on Fringe.
Queen Elsa On ‘Once Upon A Time’: Role Filled By Georgina Haig
According to the casting call, Once Upon A Time was looking for a “late-20s/early-30s beauty” who “long struggled to control her ‘chilling’ powers and even unleashed upon her town an eternal winter during her coronation,” reported TVLine earlier this month.
Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa are probably all we can expect from the Frozen cast — “show bosses laughed and offered a ‘No comment’ on the prospect of a CGI Olaf showing up,” according to TVLine. Not to throw stones or anything, but a CGI Olaf might be one of the less ridiculous things to happen on Once Upon A Time. Just saying.
‘Frozen’ Grossed Nearly $1.3 Billion At The Worldwide Box Office
Frozen was an enormous hit for Disney, grossing a staggering $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office — their most profitable animated film ever. Bringing in Queen Elsa may be just the thing to revive interest in Once Upon A Time, whose ratings have been halved in its third season compared to its first.
Georgina is best known for playing Henrietta “Etta” Bishop on FOX’s Fringe, as the daughter of leads Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv).
So, HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Georgina in the role of Queen Elsa? Do you know her body of work? Do you think she’ll do a good job? Whom were you hoping would get the role? Let us know!
