Considering that Chris Brown, 25, still has an alleged assault trial hanging over his head, you wouldn’t know it by the amazing performance of “Loyal” that he put on at the BET Awards on June 29 in LA. However, a source has revealed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Chris was relieved that Drake and Rihanna were no-shows — he certainly didn’t need the added drama that would bring. Read on for all the details!
Chris Brown: Rihanna & Drake Not At The BET Awards Was A Relief
Rihanna and Drake not being at the BET Awards made Chris’ evening “much smoother,” our insider revealed to HollywoodLife.com. “He didn’t want to be bothered with either of them or have any kind of negative energy from them or anyone else for that matter.
“The night, from his perspective, was about the fans and his determination to go out there and show the world he’s still that talented guy from Virginia,” our source added. Chris has always been very loyal to his fans, so we’re not too surprised to hear that.
We’re glad that he had the opportunity to have a drama-free night — for once. However, it’s important to note that all of that drama is his own doing. But we digress.
Chris Brown ‘Felt Really, Really Supported And Honoured To Be On Stage’ At The BET Awards
Chris is really thankful to the BETs for giving him this chance to prove himself as an entertainer following difficulties in his personal life — “When [Chris] got on stage and he saw all his peers and all the fans standing on their feet and cheering for him, it made him believe in himself just that much more. He felt really, really supported and honored to be on stage and thanks BET tremendously.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you like Chris’ performance at the BETs? Are you Team Breezy, and as glad as Chris was that Rihanna and Drake weren’t there? Let us know!
