‘Nurse Jackie’ Finale: Is Jackie’s Career Coming To An End?
“Have you been treating patients, while impaired?” Akalitus asks Jackie in the June 29 season finale. “It has come to my attention that you made a near fatal mistake, while treating a patient yesterday.”
Jackie, completely blindsided, refuses to admit if she’s using, other than the drugs that she was given for when Akalitus ran over her foot. Jackie tries to divert the attention from her and puts the focus on another doctor’s shortcomings, in the hopes that Akalitus will forget about the drug discuss. No luck.
Angry, Jackie walks out of the meeting and rolls her eyes at Akalitus when she asks whether or not she has relapsed.
“If you’ve relapsed, you need to tell me now,” Akalitus demands, before bringing up the choice for Jackie to admit herself to a diversion program, which would put her in rehab, probation and result in a pay cut. On the other hand, she can just take a voluntary drug test to prove that she’s not using.
And if she fails? “You will be stripped of your ability to ever practice nursing…if you test positive, you will lose your license.”
Will her pride get in the way of her career?
Let us know what you think, HollywoodLifers, will Jackie submit to the drug test and risk losing everything or will she admit to using and go to rehab? Sound off in the comments below!
