Iggy Azalea Gets The Crowd On Their Feet With ‘Fancy’ At The BET Awards

Iggy Azalea performed ‘Fancy’ at the BET Awards on June 29 and had the crowd on their feet immediately — even Snoop Dogg was bopping his head!

First things first, Iggy Azalea is the realest. She hit the stage at the Nokia Theater in LA on June 29 for the BET Awards and blew the crowd away with a bombastic performance of “Fancy,” her mega-hit fourth single off of her debut album, The New Classic.

Iggy Azalea’s BET Awards Performance Of ‘Fancy’ Even Had Nicki Minaj Impressed

Iggy initially hit the stage for her verse on T.I.‘s “No Mediocre,” but he melted in the background once her verse was up as the track transitioned to “Fancy.” Iggy owned the stage, the audience totally captivated. Even Nicki Minaj was dancing! Nicki Minaj. If Nicki Minaj is into one of your jams, I think that you can probably go home at that point because you’ve peaked. Even Snoop Dogg was bopping his head, and everybody in the audience was asking, “who dat, who dat?” along with Iggy. So. Fun.

Nicki Minaj: It Was Wrong To Diss Iggy Azalea At The BET Awards

Anyway, Iggy looked as amazing as she sounded on that huge stage, with black leggings adorned with hanging over-large safety pins, metallic sneakers, and a cut-out panel crop top. She wore her hair in a high pony with braided sides that resembled a mohawk, and coupled with her glowing, pale skin and a bright fuschia lip, her look was simple with edgy details that went perfectly with her performance.

Iggy Azalea’s Career Is Not Slowing Down Any Time Soon

Iggy’s skyrocketing career is not slowing down any time soon. “Fancy” was released on Feb. 17, 2014, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. When Ariana Grande‘s “Problem” was released — on which Iggy features — Iggy occupied the top two spots on the charts for both “Fancy” and “Problem,” and was the first female rapper ever to have two songs concurrently in the top five of the Hot 100 chart. Not bad.

It would have been awesome to see Iggy perform “Work” with T.I., who was also present at the BET Awards. “Work” was the first single off of The New Classic, but it was dope.

So, HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Iggy’s performance? Some people thought that Nicki was dissing Iggy in her acceptance speech for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist — do you think she was? Because she looked like she was jamming to Iggy! Let us know!

That suppose dance she did with all the primping and kiss faces, was the warm up for the major shade she delivered a little later on in the evening trust.

The performance was horrible people. Of course people who are not familiar with rap and hip hop would think nicki is jealous but BLOOP you can’t fool the real people. Iggy, the voice is fake, the butt is fake, and she can’t even freestyle and write her own rhymes. Nicki is no saint and I’m not her biggest fan, but don’t put a costume and come in our space and try mock us. Iggy was visibly nervous the WHOLE performance, she couldn’t even make eye contact with the audience, her energy was LOW, it was bad. Hopefully we sent a clear message to her that her act is over and there is no support for her from the hip hop community.

Jealousy is unbecoming. As usual, the ex clown is hating on someone. Terrible personality. Why anyone would like this talentless, fake child is beyond me. She’s mad that Iggy Azalea is popping, that’s all. Plus, Iggy got the nod from the Queen Bee last year in Brooklyn. Enough said.

Nicki wasn’t “into” Iggy Azalea’s performance. She was being snarky as h-ll during Iggy’s performance. Did you hear Nicki’s acceptance speech, a few minutes, before the show ended?

Yeah, she was letting it known that she didn’t like her.

Nicki Minaj’s acceptance speech was directed to ALL rappers who use ghostwriters to write their bars. Female rappers tend to succumb to using them and its unfortunate because that discredits all the work Nicki Minaj puts into her craft as a whole. Nicki Minaj deserves her credit, and that’s what the gist of her speech was about. Wtf were you watching?

I am not convinced. I think it was about Iggy because Iggy doesn’t write most of her own material. She is the only female mc I know of at this moment who does not write the majority of their music. I agree, however with the rest of your comment.

When you pause @ the crowd during Iggy’s performance, the look on everyone’s faces says a thousand words. No one really likes this girl. It’s clear.

She said it because rumors have been floating around lately that she didn’t write some of the songs on roman reloaded, I’ve heard that she didn’t write va va voom at all and bought the song from dr Luke the same way Britney Spears does when she’s putting together an album
